I think the HD in HDMix stands for Hardly Desired

I have been an internet DJ and private DJ for parties for over 10 years and have also done live audio for shows. I thought this thing would be a great all in one package for overall use for everything I do, but to be honest, Im not a huge fan of mp3 players that require proprietary software to move music over to their products.

Ive owned a sony minisidc player which involved using sony software to encode the song to their proprietary extension before moving it over to the player.... hated it

Ive owned an Apple ipod with video when it first came out, and you could only use ITunes to move music over to it, and heaven forbid you plugged it into another PC it would erase all your music.....hated it

The best MP3 player I ever owned was my Archos. Plug it into the PC and drag the files over. Simple and easy. No converting...nothing. Drag....drop...done.

This Professional Mp3 Player/Mixer comes with its own software to move the mp3 files over which is a drag. It also takes very long to do so. The color screen is very beautiful and flashy, but it seemed a little difficult to navigate to the songs. Maybe it would be easier if I used the keyboard, but I really didnt want to have to carry a keyboard around with me to gigs, so I was trying to use it without it.

The construction of this unit is high quality. The knobs, faders, and buttons feel great and the meters are very cool looking. The sound is also high quality.

I must add...one of the main reasons I bought this and would have bumped my 3 star rating up to 5 (possibly 6 if it was possible) is the fact that the model released prior to this model had the ability to internally record your mixes. I did not find out that they removed that feature from the newer model until I received it. That would have really thrown this product over the top and I am in shock Numark removed it!

I am a fan of numark for their innovations, but I think I would have been better off purchasing a solid mixer to go with my DNS3500's and called it a day.

Numark has done it again. The HD-Mix is realy all you need. No more CD's!!!
I have been using Numark equipment for over 10 years and I have been very satisfied.
Creating and updating your library is very easy, compact design, easy navigation... This unit is simple to use and just GREAT. I admit that scratching requires a bit of learning, but once you master it, it's just as fun. I travel a lot for gigs, now I have one les bag (50lbs of CD's) to worry about.
This product is pure common sense, and logic.

LOVE IT.

BACK to DJing

Been a DJ for 23 years and I purchased this unit 1.5yrs ago and I am 100% satisfied. Very well built unit and I recommend getting a custom case for extra protection. No complaints, except I paid more then for what it is worth now. NuMark does it right!!!
